“Kraja a place to long for”
Kraja is a Sami word meaning “A place to long for.” Here you will find the old inn with hotels, cabins and camping. The restaurant has a beautiful lake view. For those of you who are looking for a cozy place to hold conferences, Kraja is perfect! The Kraja tipi is suitable for conferences and there are several boardrooms. During the summer Kraja turns into a campground with many activities.

Kraja inn is situated right on Sälla lake and offers a beautiful lakeside view. Local northern food is showcased on the menu. For special reservations and if you and your company want a more intimate dining experience there are several alternatives to enjoy. Kraja terrace is a relaxing and beautiful place open during the summer.
The history of Kraja
Kraja was built in1869 by the lumberjacks Finn-Anders and Finn-Samuel. The building, which was both a doctor’s and forester’s residence became a rest-home for senior members of the Sami community and stayed like that until 1925. Arjeplog municipality took it over in 1956 and Kraja became a hostel and the cabins started to be built. In the New Year 1977 the redevelopment of Kraja started and it opened to the public the same year. The restaurant was added in 1982. Hotel Silverhatten bought kraja and still owns it. We have strived to preserve the rustic environment from the 1800s.

Welcome to the Kraja Hotel, beautifully located by lake Sälla. Our four star hotel offers 52 comfortable twin and double rooms. All our rooms have free WiFi and flatscreen TVs with international channels. Our breakfast buffet is always included, and so is free access to the sauna and relax area.
CAMPING
Krajas camping site is open both in summer and winter. All guests staying here have access to our fully equipped service facilities with WC, shower, sauna, kitchen, and laundry room. Pitches available with or without electricity.
CABINS
At Kraja you can choose if you want to stay in a cabin or your with your caravan or camper. Our self-service cabins come in various sizes, accommodating up to six people in the largest cabin. A perfect place to stay to enjoy the outdoors.
